Faculty Assistance Programs

University Deans and Professors now have the best online courses and projects in applied sciences available to support student learning through the VIDL Network. With VIDL Network, faculty members can:

  • Supplement class coursework
  • Expand topic versatility
  • Customize modules and real-data-based project bundles
  • Provide relevant and challenging lab exercises

VIDL Network is an easy-to-use online learning experience that combines training courses with hands-on projects. It is designed as a growth opportunity for introducing or obtaining working knowledge of an applied science topic. Our industry specialists focus on providing advanced science applications with a dynamic IT experience to support a student’s interest.

VIDL Network offers complete management of online course modules and course projects including course analytics so that the professor can follow a student or class interactions.

We understand that the ways people learn are changing and that having the flexibility of using mobile tools is essential. That’s why VIDL Network is working to make the best online courses and projects in applied sciences accessible and fast.

How It Works

The purpose of VIDL Network is to combine on-line module training sessions with the execution of real-data-based projects in order to reinforce learning goals. Our main objective is to inform on what ‘a science’ can do, how is it used, and reasons why.

The VIDL-student will navigate the VIDL Network website based on how the University has selected. VIDL Network will build a micro-site for the University. Each class within the site will have its individual entry point. The Modules and/or Projects selected by the Professor will be available to each class participant for the duration of the semester; generally, that is for four (4) months.

The cost is based on the number of modules and/or projects selected, and the number of students per class. The cost range averages $40 to $100 USD per student. The University chooses a method of payment. The VIDL Network can invoice the University directly at the start of the semester and make a site available to the class-registered students. A second option, each student pays online for access to the University micro-site.

Topics Currently Available

The VIDL Network offers students a variety of applied science applications.

The current topics cover:

  • Environmental Compliance
  • Environmental Sciences
  • Organic chemistry lab tools
  • Overview to Gravity Applications for Oil/Gas/Mineral Exploration
  • Introduction to Airborne Radiometrics
  • Full-Tensor Gravity Gradiometry
  • Interpretation of Basement Structure
  • Qualitative Interpretation of datasets
  • and more at vidlnetwork.com

The exploration applications not only apply to oil/gas/mineral industry but to other industries that require a full understanding of exploration such as, banking, legal and education.

Example University Lab Exercises

All questions pertaining to the science will be forward to the Professor

  • Environmental Compliance: Phase I Environmental Site Assessment
  • Environmental Compliance: Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan
  • Organic Chemistry Laboratory Know-How-Tools
  • 2D Magnetic Structural Modeling

Example University Class Supplements

  • Overview to Gravity Applications for Oil/Gas/Mineral Exploration
  • Introduction to Airborne Radiometrics
  • Full-Tensor Gravity Gradiometry
  • Interpretation of Basement Structure
  • Gravity Applications for Exploration
  • Magnetic Application for Minerals Exploration

Resources Available to Students include:

  • Reference Library – reading list
  • Databases, if required for a Project
  • Database Search Assistance
  • VIDL Support is available to subscribers to answer questions pertaining to the University micro-site

Required Skill Level

Inquire with VIDL Support to discuss the level of expertise you seek for your students. The Skill Level Chart can be used as a guide to establish a desired level of expertise.

There are module prerequisites for the projects and several projects require a specific level of expertise before beginning. VIDL Support can help you establish prerequisites and the level of expertise required.
