The latitude and longitude bounds range from 5 degrees south to 4 degrees north and 9 – 12 degrees East respectively. The areal extent is approximately 273,500 square kilometers (105,600 sq. miles).
Offshore Gabon IGC 3D Earth Model Bouguer Gravity
The Bouguer Gravity Anomaly Map was generated using Sandwell’s Free-Air Gravity grid version 16.1 and Sandwell’s bathymetry/topography grid version 10.1. The Bouguer correction was done using a density of 2.4 g/cc. The objective of the Bouguer correction is to minimize the effect of high relief bathymetric features observed in the Free-air gravity. The resulting Bouguer Gravity Anomaly Map is recommended for qualitative interpretation of tectonic elements and crustal structure. The Map ranges between -6.6 and 24.5 milligals and contoured at 5 mGals.
